Festival Specifics
Our 2024 format is a one-tiered contest.
The competition will begin at 3:00 p.m.
We have 5 classifications:
Open Class (Comments): any size band – performing for comments only
Open Class (Ratings): any size band – performing for rantings only
Bronze Class: bands with 69 or less students
Silver Class: bands with 70-99 students
Gold Class: bands with 100-125 students
Platinum Class: bands with 126 or more students

(*) Auxiliary and Percussion scores and ratings are stand-alone and will not be counted in the overall score and rating of the band.
Awards
The following awards will be presented:
SUPERIOR AWARD (Band, Auxiliary, and Percussion)
BEST IN CLASS (First runner-up and second runner-up will also be awarded in each class)
The following caption awards will be presented to the band with
the highest overall caption score in each class:
BEST IN CLASS MUSICAL PERFORMANCE
BEST IN CLASS VISUAL PERFORMANCE
BEST IN CLASS GENERAL EFFECT
BEST IN CLASS PERCUSSION
BEST IN CLASS AUXILIARY
OVERALL BEST AUXILIARY AWARD is presented to the band with the highest overall auxiliary score regardless of classification.
OVERALL BEST PERCUSSION AWARD is presented to the band with the highest overall percussion score regardless of classification.
OVERALL BEST BAND (Sheila Knight Sammons Memorial Award) is presented to the band with the highest score
(Music 1 score + Music 2 score + General Effect score + Visual score) regardless of classification.
